Words
Where the final echoes fade, the marble forms are all around,
The granite world is frozen, lost in gestures crystallised.
Every movement slows until the flesh has got no pulse or sound,
Last memory, a picture in a world forever petrified.
We are just monuments of life awaiting our decay,
The weight of dust and gravity is etched in every face.
Retreating into shadow and the colours fade to grey,
No motion left to save us from this colourless place.
Statues of cold death,
Lost inside every breath.
Monuments of stone,
Standing all alone.
FROZEN!
The touch of grief is eternity, and time is standing still,
We are the architecture of a broken human will.
No path remains to wander as the roadway fades away,
The statues stand as spectres for the universe to see.
The granite starts to solidify as the air takes command,
A forest of unmoving forms across a wasted land.
We cannot mourn or move within this marble-laden fate,
We are the monuments of death that bear no human name.
YOU RECOGNISE!
Statues of cold death,
Lost inside every breath.
Monuments of stone,
Standing all alone.
I can’t trust what you see,
Frozen by a petrified stare.
No more movement, no more pain,
Only statues will remain.
Statues of cold death,
Lost inside every breath.
Monuments of stone,
Standing all alone.
That was a death…
That was a death…
